After losing his factory in the Second World war, Hans Clemens travelled with his family to Kirchardt/Baden in West Germany where he established a retail gift shop. After many requests for teddy bears his sister started making them from old blankets left by the German army. Demand rose and production expanded rapidly. Today the company is famous for their bears and animals and their small limited editions have become very collectable. Peter, the son of the original founder now runs the factory in Kirchardt.
